Caulfield Engineering’s team of welding consultants has investigated and solved complex welding problems in a variety of materials and welding processes.  Our consultants can and have identified welding failure types such as cracking, inclusions, and lamellar tearing in many different engineering alloys.  Their experience and understanding of potential imperfections from the welding process allow them to provide guidance in the techniques to limit or reduce these imperfections.  Our engineers and scientists use a wide range of macroscopic and microscopic analysis techniques, including photographic documentation, optical and scanning electron microscopy, fracture surface evaluation, and others to determine failure modes and locations on welded structures.
